THE headteacher at a Broadway primary school said she has the “best job in the world” after an outstanding report from Ofsted.

St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, in Leamington Road, received the glowing report following the inspection just before Christmas and improved upon the ‘good’ report it had in February 2010.

Lead inspector David Evans said: “Pupils’ behaviour is excellent.

They enjoy being in school and they are extremely enthusiastic about what they are learning.”

He also praised teaching which was “consistently good with much that is outstanding” and said the executive headteacher “sets very high expectations of staff and is passionate about ensuring that all pupils do as well as they can”.

The report also said that “pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is outstanding’ and ‘parents agree the school keeps pupils safe”.

Executive headteacher Jacqui Le Maitre said she was really proud of the achievements of staff, pupils and governors.

“I have the pleasure of working with an extremely committed and dedicated staff,” she said. “I am thrilled that their good practice and teamwork, which has ensured that pupils make good progress in a happy and secure learning environment has been recognised.

“I am very lucky to have the best job in the world. The pupils’ attitudes to learning and their behaviour are exemplary and they are a credit to themselves, their school and their families.

“Now that the school has been recognised as outstanding we will continue on our mission to aim high and reach for the stars.”
