RAIL passengers in Worcestershire are currently suffering reported delays to services after a person was hit by a train in Gloucestershire.

London Midland reported short delays of between five and 10 minutes to their Worcestershire services after a man died after being hit by a train in Stonehouse, Glos.

First Great Western reported delays to their services between Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Temple Meads.

A spokesman for the British Transport Police said the incident could have a knock-on effect to local services. 

BTP were called to scene at 8.11am today following the discovery of a man’s body on the tracks.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for Network Rail said the driver working the 7.09am Worcester to Paddington service reported a body on the down line approaching Standish Junction.


The train involved has been identified as the First Great Western 07.11am service from Gloucester - Swindon which passed Standish Junction at 7.22am.
