No Cotswold waste collections today
10:26am Tuesday 22nd January 2013 in News By Freya Leng
THE Cotswolds are still suffering following the heavy snow fall over the weekend.
Cotswold District Council's (CDC) waste contractor, Ubico Ltd, is still unable to make scheduled waste, recycling and food/garden waste collections today.
Many side roads and pavements in the district are still icebound and continue to pose severe operational and public safety risks which prevent a resumption of collections.
There is also a possibility of more snow to come today which could make conditions worse.
This means that the catch-up arrangements planned for this week – starting with missed collections from Friday - will not take place today.
The CDC website cotswold.gov.uk will set out revised collection arrangements as soon as practically possible.
Moreton Area Centre and Cotswold Leisure facilities at Bourton and Chipping Campden are all open for business today.
