TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of an assault on a teenager between Bourton and Great Rissington.

The assault happened on a road that runs between the two villages on Friday between 11.20pm and 11.45pm.

Two men assaulted a 16-year-old boy from Great Rissington, causing him cuts and bruising and during the assault the boy’s bank card was stolen.

Officers were called to the scene and a police dog was used to search the area.

Following the incident an 18-year-old man from Chipping Norton was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage.

A second 18-year-old man, from Withington, near Hereford, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, assault and criminal damage.

Both have been bailed to return to the police station on January 17, pending further enquiries.

It’s thought that a number of motorists might have passed the incident or the individuals involved. Officers are asking Great Rissington and Bourton residents to think back to Friday night and whether they may have witnessed anything that could help the investigation.
