MANY men across the Vale were sporting a new look last month in support of Movember.
They joined ‘mo bros’ worldwide by growing a moustache to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, particularly prostate and testicular cancer.
Seven friends from Amcor Flexibles in Evesham took part raising more than £800.
James Smith said: “We made about £400 and are still collecting. The company will match what we make so it will be more than £800.”
The official last day of the challenge was on Friday and most of the men taking part have now shaved off their moustaches.
Mr Smith added: “I have shaved mine off.
My wife was pleased.
One of the lads is keeping his for December. I am glad I took part. I like to do something every year for charity and this was my challenge this year.”
Members and fans of Pershore Rugby Club also grew moustaches and raised £833.
The top fund-raiser for the club was first team prop Lee Synnuck, who raised £332 and got a prize meal for two at the Anchor in Wyre Piddle, while Andy Watson, former first team flanker, was voted the club’s ‘top tache’.
Toby Grace, Pershore RFC’s first team coach and player, said: “By growing a moustache for Movember we have all become walking, talking billboards for the month and will help to change the face of men’s health.”
