WATER in Broadway is safe to drink again.
After ten days of not having clean water in the Cotswold village Severn Trent Water have restored a safe drinking supply.
Everyone affected by the problem has received a letter of advise and will also be awarded £25 in compensation.
The problem was first discovered on Friday, November 23, when water coming out of the taps became discoloured after a water pipe failed at a local reservoir and tests confirmed it did not meet drinking standards.
Severn Trent then began working around the clock to resolve the problem and at 10pm on Monday the water was confirmed as safe.
A spokesperson said: “Following extensive and thorough water sampling, we’re pleased to be able to confirm our customers’ water supply in Broadway returned to normal and is good to drink again. Customers no longer need to boil their water.”
The supplier thanked its customers for their support.
The incident support vehicle will be outside the Horse and Hound pub in Broadway again today to assure our customers the water is safe to drink and address any other concerns they may have.
