HIDCOTE Manor Gardens wil be lit up for an extra weekend, after weather forced the cancellation of Saturday evening’s event.

The Hidcote Enchanted Garden, near Chipping Campden, will now be open again on Saturday and Sunday from 5pm with the last admission at 8pm.

This year’s event was hailed the best yet with the lighting of the garden rooms and the Manor house proving extremely popular.

About a third of the 10.5 acre garden and the manor house and outbuildings are illuminated with a professional lighting company setting up the lights in partnership with the National Trust.

Mike Beeston, the National Trust’s General Manager at Hidcote, said: “This has proved to be a hugely popular event and we want to ensure that everybody who wanted to visit gets a chance to do so.

“We find people really love being immersed in the magical atmosphere created by intricately lit plants and shrubs and some of our most magnificent trees flooded with colour.

“It is a delight for both adults and children alike.”

The Cedar Tree Restaurant will be open throughout the evenings with hot and cold drinks and light snacks available and the shop will also be open for a spot of leisurely Christmas shopping without the hassle of the high street crowds.

Admission is £6 per adult, £4 per child and £18 per family (members and non-members). For details visit nationaltrust.org.uk/hidcote or by calling Pamela Johnston (Events & Functions Coordinator) on 01386 439801.
