VISITORS to Hidcote Manor Garden, near Chipping Campden, will see it in a new light this month when it opens to visitors after dark.
The Enchanted Garden event illuminates the garden, the exterior of the manor house, outhouses in the courtyard and one third of the 10-and-a-half acre garden.
Mike Beeston, the National Trust’s general manager at Hidcote, said the event had become really popular since it launched two years ago.
“We find people really love being immersed in the magical atmosphere created by intricately lit plants and shrubs and some of our most magnificent trees flooded with colour,” he said.
“It is a delight for both adults and children alike who really enjoy the opportunity to let their imagination run away, into a world where our statues and their shadows come to life and the plants which have normally gone to bed for the winter take on a new life of their own.”
The Enchanted Garden will be open tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday and Friday, November 23, Saturday, November 24 and Sunday, November 25, from 5pm with last admission at 8pm.
Admission is £6 and £4 for children.
