Horse rescued from fencing in Toddington

A HORSE had to be rescued after it became tangled in metal fencing in Toddington.

Firefighters were called just before 1.30pm on Monday to Church Land by a distressed woman who said her horse needed immediate help.

A crew from Winchcombe Fire station were called along with specialised animal rescue equipment from Gloucester North fire station and 13 firefighters.

Crews used enhanced animal rescue equipment from the Special Incident Support Unit, to allow the horse to be released unharmed before being assessed by the vet.
