A SELF-taught artist is celebrating the first public showing of his work.
Twenty-four acrylic on canvas paintings by Michael Caines have gone on display at the new-look Evesham Library. The pieces mainly feature landscapes entirely created from Mr Caines’ imagination. The engineering foreman said he was inspired to put paintbrush to paper after watching someone paint on a television programme about six years ago. “I’ve never had the nerve to do anything before,” said the 57-year-old, from Childswickham. “I’m a bit nervous about the exhibition but I seemed to get a very good response when I hung the paintings up.” People can see Mr Caines’ paintings during library opening hours until the end of this month.
