JENNY Wren Productions have teamed up with award-winning Stroud-based author and playwright, Jamila Gavin, to present a new play.

Love Lies Bleeding comes to the Everyman Studio in Cheltenham, next month.

A spokesman said: “The play explores the personal, political and domestic background to World War II as it affects two young girls entering adulthood.

“It dramatises the issues and arguments that raged at the time and the choices that had to be made amidst a conflict of interest. It is about friendship, betrayal and divided loyalties.”

The spokesman added: “Two young women, Gwen and Dodo share a flat in London at the outbreak of World War II. Gwen joins the Women’s Royal Air Force, while star-struck Dodo, training to be an actress, soon finds herself entertaining the troops. Dodo’s family have Nazi sympathies and she gradually finds herself being pulled in opposing directions: where should her loyalties lie?”

The show will run from June 13 to June 16.
