THE WOOD Norton Hotel, located in the Evesham Countryside, will host some of the most famous characters in fiction this summer, including an all-male performance of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, where the actors will arrive on pushbikes.

Two open-air theatre companies will bring Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night to life.

Steve Sweeny, General Manager at The Wood Norton Hotel, said: “We’re delighted to announce the first open-air productions at The Wood Norton Hotel this summer.

“Twelfth Night is one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays and the same can be said for Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, and we’re excited to welcome two fantastic theatre companies who will, no doubt, give their audiences an evening to remember.”

He added: “Twelfth Night, performed by The HandleBards, will take place on Friday June 22 at 6.30pm and offers a unique twist on Shakespeare’s classic tale. The all-male theatre troupe pedal from venue to venue with their sets, props and costumes to perform environmentally-friendly Shakespearean plays across the globe.

“This will be followed by Pride and Prejudice on Friday 24th August 24 at 7pm, performed by Heartbreak Productions. Formed in 1991, the group has been touring the UK for more than 25 years, performing fun and interactive open-air shows.”

Steve said: “Outdoor theatre performances are a fantastic way to experience famous tales like these and are a great evening out for the whole family.”
