SUMMER is coming and theatregoers can look forward to a cheeky Pimms on the Everyman terrace before relaxing with an evening of drama, comedy or dancing.

The new brochure for the Cheltenham venue is out, and variety is the name of the game.

The Everyman’s chief executive, Mark Goucher said: “This season takes us until the end of the year when I am delighted to announce that Peter Duncan, he of Blue Peter fame, will be writing and directing a new production of Aladdin starring Gloucestershire’s very own Tweedy. Tickets are already selling fast so please book early.”

New shows coming to Cheltenham include, prior to the West End, The Messiah starring Hugh Dennis and Lesley Garrett.

And then there’s Trial By Laughter, a new play by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman, following the success of The Wipers Times.

JB Priestley’s thriller, An Inspector Calls returns in October and a critically acclaimed production of Othello, directed by Richard Twyman, is hot on its heels.

Other shows already selling fast include the hit comedy A Play about a Bank Robbery; The Beatles musical Let it Be and shows for children such as Awful Aunty, Gruffalo’s Child and Dinosaur World Live.
