KILLER doctors are set to entertain an audience at Evesham.

But thankfully it won't be a home visit, and the NHS hasn't completely broken down.

Instead, local folks can spend a ghoulish but safe evening with two of British history's most infamous bygone murderers: William Palmer and Harvey Crippen.

Were they really blameless doctors - or truly infamous poisoners?

A spokesman said: "Murder by Gaslight is an interactive show featuring quick costume changes and multi character playing - with lashings of black humour.

"It explores the tales of two Victorian doctors, each convicted of murdering by that most Victorian method - poisoning - but does so from the viewpoint of the accused."

"Cellar Theatre's Jonathan Goodwin said:"We invite audiences to encounter these murderous men of medicine be regaled with their case histories - then to judge whether they were in fact, guilty as charged."

"Don't Go Into The Cellar! Theatre are "the British Empire's leading practitioners of macabre Victoriana".

Based in Birmingham, they perform period shows on themes from Musical Hall to Sherlock Holmes - but with a distinct preference for Penny Dreadful tales, morbid curiosities a ghost stories.

They say they offer, Victorian theatre with bite."

The show will take place on April 13, from 7.30pm.
