Malvern Theatres is screening an inspiring movie focusing on South Africa’s Rugby World Cup-winning team of 1995. Invictus, directed by Clint Eastwood, stars Matt Damon as the Springbok captain Francois Pienaar and Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela. The film charts how the South African team’s victory in the rugby world cup helped unify the post-aparteid country. Invictus is showing from March 5-11. Tickets are £5 with £4 concessions. Derek’s claim to make contact with the deceased runs in his family. He says he had his first supernatural experience as a child when the spirit of his late grandfather came to visit him.When he told his grandmother, he says she was unsurprised and he learnt that she too was a medium.

Examination of dementia

DEMENTIA is the subject of Trevor T Smith’s one-act, one-man play at The Subscription Rooms in Stroud. The play deals with issues of loss, disempowerment and old age and examines the experience of an identity cut loose from the rest of the world by the loss of memory. It is a poignant, but often humorous performance which lets audiences see the world as through the eyes of a dementia sufferer.
