Celebration of beers and pies

AFTER the success of Evesham’s first ever Pie and Ale Festival last year organisers have announced the date of this year’s event.

Set to take place on Saturday, September 15, from midday until 8pm, the foodie festival will once again be in the Market Square and Abbey Park.

Last year more than 1,000 people visited the town to sample the best in local food and drink and this year organisers are hoping to repeat the success.

There will be a selection of some of the best food and drink on offer around the Vale of Evesham and the Cotswolds, pie competitions and lots of live music and entertainment.

Sadler’s Ales from Stourbridge along with breweries from Wyre Piddle and Cheltenham will be on hand to supply the ale.

There will also be a whole host of family-friendly entertainment, including Morris dancing, ferret racing, Punch and Judy and a circus skills workshop.

Festival organiser Vicky Lawson, from the Vale of Evesham Commerce and Tourism Association, said: “Last year was such a success that we knew we had to run it again. It’s totally free and there will be even more stalls than last year, so we are hoping to see even more people than last year.”
