THE Evesham and District Music Club has a New Year's resolution, to bring more great classical music to local audiences.

With this in mind, the club has announced details of forthcoming highlights, for the start of 2017.

A spokesman said: "Music can take you to a magical place and away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living, and the beauty of classical music is it opens your mind to many possibilities of wonder; from the imagination of the composer, the skill of the musicians, the combinations of sound from the instruments, your own inter-action and thoughts whilst listening, the history of the time when the music was written.

"To this end, Evesham and District Music Club has been bringing live performances of classical music to Evesham for over 65 years, so if you haven’t made all your New Year Resolutions, why not add – attend one, or all, of the three concerts at Evesham Arts Centre, which all start at 7.30pm."

On Wednesday January 25, Jayson Gillham, an internationally acclaimed pianist, will perform at Evesham Arts Centre.

On Friday February 24, Matthew Scott, on the clarinet and Christine Zerafa, the pianist, will entertain.

On Wednesday March 29, Trio Aquilon will be hitting the right notes.
