Two big-name new additions to the line-up at the sixth Cornbury Festival, near Charlbury, have been announced.
The Lightning Seeds and legendary blues guitarist and Fleetwood Mac founder Peter Green will be playing at Cornbury Park over the weekend of July 11-12.
Promoter Hugh Phillimore said: “There aren’t any festivals in the UK that could mix Sugababes with The Damned! We’re very proud of our musical diversity and family- friendly ethos”.
Other artists performing at this year’s festival include Brit nominated live maestros Scouting For Girls, the retro classic chic of Sharleen Spiteri’s new oeuvre, the classic Magic Numbers, new stars Teddy Thompson, Imelda May, Ava Leigh and legends The Pretenders making a welcome return. Unfortunately, Joe Jackson will not be appearing due to logistical reasons.
The 2009 event will also see over-70s and children under five being able to gain free access.
Cornbury also offers fantastic food, street theatre, children’s workshops, festival shops and a huge fairground.
Ticket prices are as follows; adult weekend with camping £110, under-16s £65. Day ticket rates are adult £55, under-16s £27.50. Camping is available for an additional fee of £20. See the festival website at www.cornburyfest ival.com. For credit card bookings call 0871 4720420.
