Tayler & Fletcher, the north Cotswolds property auctioneers are delighted to report another 100% success story at their September property auction.

Lot 1 was a charming one bedroom Cotswold cottage, requiring modernisation and set just off The Square in the heart of the town. It was guided at £110,000 - £120,000. The property captured the imagination of the buying public and considerable interest was shown before the auction, primarily by investors recognising that such opportunities are relatively few and far between. On the night there were four competing buyers in the room together with two telephone bidders. The bidding started at £115,000 and swiftly rose with the hammer eventually falling at £185,000.

Lot 2 was a lovely cottage, enjoyed by the vendor for very many years and also required modernisation. Tucked away down Chapel Street it also occupied an excellent position close to The Square. Similarly a healthy level of interest was shown before the auction together with a number of requests for the legal documentation. The guide was £180,000 - £200,000. Bidding started at the lower level and the hammer fell at £195,000 to a jubilant purchaser who could hardly contain her excitement at her purchase.

Edward Bagnall FRICS, the auctioneer commented: “Once again Wednesdays auction was another successful evening. The room was packed and there were lots of active bidders with excellent prices being achieved”.

The Solicitors acting were:

Lot 1: BLB Solicitors, Bath [Richard Bowater]

Lot 2: Kendall and Davies, Stow-on-the-Wold [Charlie Davies]
