THE skittling skills of staff on the shop floor of Amtek Aluminium in Kidderminster were put to good use when they held a match which raised more than £400 for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Toolroom manager Shane Dyke said: "The cost of a guide dog throughout its life is £50,000, which is a small price to pay for giving someone their independence. A guide dog came to Amtek with his trainers to pick up the money and some of the lads involved had their photo taken with it. The Alsatian was a 18 month old American guide dog which had been chosen as a stud dog.
"We at Amtek will be organising another event in October to raise more money for the Guide Dogs for the Blind and are hoping to eventually raise £5000 to sponsor a dog."
