A SIX-strong team from local land and property management company Place Partnership swapped their steel toe caps for sweatbands when they took on the Worcester half marathon.

The Place Pacers team, comprising Maggie Johnson, Lindsay Harris, Matthew Roy, Richard Willett, Paul Thatcher and Penny Unwin, tackled the 13 mile course in support of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven, a charity that provides free support to anyone affected by breast cancer.

Surveyor Richard Willett, who pulled the team together, said: “As a Worcester-based company, we’re proud to support local initiatives and charities whenever possible. We’re all keen-ish runners, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to get out there and take part.

"It was a fantastic day, the weather was warm but not too hot and the rain held off until the last of our team were through. It was a hilly course but there were lots of people cheering along the way While the course was tough, the thought of making a positive difference to those battling breast cancer across Worcestershire certainly kept us going.”

Place Partnership delivers a range of services across 1,300 land and property assets that it oversees on behalf of six public sector organisations. These assets include schools, libraries, community centres, commercial buildings, police stations, fire stations, retail and leisure facilities, agricultural land and smallholdings.
