Developer Taylor Wimpey has moved a step closer to unveiling a brand new collection of high-quality homes in Worcestershire after a planning application was approved by the local authority.

Planning permission has been granted by Worcester City Council for a new residential development off Perry Wood Walk in Worcester, which will comprise 215 new homes along with public open space.

Williamson Place will offer a range of stylish one, two, three and four-bedroom properties and will provide jobs for subcontractors during the construction period.

What’s more, Taylor Wimpey will be making significant financial contributions towards improving facilities in the community, including towards local schools, improving the cycle links to Shrubhill Station and enhancing public open space in the vicinity.

Construction on the new homes is expected to start in January 2018, with the first plots due to be released for sale in May 2018.

Anne Wallace, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We are delighted to have received approval for our plans for this wonderful new development in Worcester, which will provide a superb selection of new homes for local people in this popular Worcestershire location.

“As a local housebuilder, we feel it’s important to contribute to the local communities in which we build our new homes by bringing investment, new facilities and new employment opportunities to the area, and we are looking forward to bringing a wealth of benefits to Worcester with the launch of our new homes here.”

Detailed plans and prices for the first available plots will be revealed at the development launch, and anyone who registers their interest online at www.taylorwimpey.co.uk will receive the latest information as soon as it becomes available.

The new development will lie on the site of the former Crown Works packaging factory and boasts a peaceful yet well-connected setting.

The historic city of Worcester boasts an array of shopping and leisure opportunities including the CrownGate Shopping Centre, comprising over 60 shops as well as cafés and restaurants.

Parents will appreciate the variety of schools for children of all ages in the area, such as Nunnery Wood Primary School and Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College, both rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.

For commuters, Worcester Shrub Hill railway station is less than a mile away from home, offering regular direct services to Bristol, Birmingham Moor Street and London Paddington, while the M5 is within easy reach, providing routes to Birmingham and Bristol.
