AN elderly woman had her handbag stolen from a car when she was shopping in a Chipping Campden store.

The 78-year-old woman was driven to the Co Op supermarket by a friend but left a window slightly open when they went into the store.

The offender then forced the window down and reached in to steal the red handbag worth around £200. It contained a number of small miscellaneous items together with a mobile phone, a pair of reading glasses and and pair of sunglasses.

Anyone with information on the handbag theft can get in contact wth Gloucestershire Police on 0845 090 1234.
