More say on health
CHANGES are being made to give residents in Shipston and throughout Warwickshire more influence on their health and social services.
In partnership with the Primary Care Trust, community groups and individuals, Warwickshire County Council is tendering for a host organisation to run a Local Information Network (LINK).
The network will be tasked with giving everyone a say in how local health and social services can be improved and to check on how such services are run.
LINKS are being formed nationwide, under the government's Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, as replacements for patients' forums.
They result from the Department of Health's 2006 White Paper - Our health, our care, our say' - which outlined the need for communities to have a greater say in health and social care.
