IT’S the Big Four-O for Pershore-based transport company White Logistics and Storage as it celebrates its 40th birthday.

A special celebration took place at the company’s Ascot Road site where employees and families were invited to enjoy a variety of entertainment such as human table football, bouncy castles, face painting, live music and throwing a wet sponge at the management.

The business, formally known as Rick White, has been operating in Pershore since 1972. It started as a one-man-and-his-van operation distributing locally grown fruit and vegetables to the wholesale markets. In 2002 the company changed ownership and soon after changed its name to White Logistics and Storage.

It has grown since then and is now a shareholder and member depot of the Palletforce network. The firm will soon be rolling out the first phase of its latest bespoke software which will increase efficiency for the company and its customers.

It currently employs almost 100 people, runs 60 vehicles and has almost 130,000 square feet of warehousing space.
