Another trophy for the Thomas Vale sideboard
WORCESTERSHIRE’S Thomas Vale has been named Contractor of the Year for the eighth time in the history of the annual awards by the construction industry publication Building.
It’s another trophy for the sideboard of the company from Stourport-upon-Severn, which is renowned for its outstanding work in the construction industry and over the last decade has become one of the most awarded principal contractors in the UK.
Tony Hyde, group managing director, said: “This award serves to demonstrate the commitment our employees have placed on the both the built environment itself and its contributing factors. It reinforces the paramount importance of the focus on sustainability, corporate responsibility, customer care, health and safety, training and development and innovation to maximise business growth and support.
“We are extremely proud of the contribution our employees and professional teams have made and will continue to make.”
The Building Awards judges described Thomas Vale Construction as “an excellent, strong firm with good company values, strong corporate responsibility, high customer care levels and an impressive approach to sustainability.”
The firm, which saw a 33.5 per cent turnover increase last year, secured 75 per cent of its work through repeat business. Among projects it has delivered £38 million worth of office development for Birmingham council and won a place on the new Constructing West Midlands Framework worth up to £3 billion over eight years.
