A FIRM with county roots has received the prestigious Queen's Award.

Green Sheep Group, which started in Inkberrow and still has a warehouse there, achieved the prestigious accolade for its innovative SnüzPod product.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise is given to businesses for outstanding achievement in the categories of innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

An official presentation event was recently held at the firm's headquarters and was attented by special guests including Tim Cox, Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire, the official representative of Her Majesty the Queen, and MP for Stratford-upon-Avon Nadhim Zahawi. Also showing their support were John Cooke, chairman of Warwickshire County Council, and Christopher Kettle, chairman of Stratford District Council.

The Lord Lieutenant presented the award and highlighted that it was a rare achievement to be only one of four companies in the West Midlands presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation.

Roger Allen, chief executive of Green Sheep Group, said during the presentation: "On behalf of everyone I’d like to say we are very proud of what the business has achieved. It’s been an exciting journey and we are delighted with the direction we’re heading. This award will support our fast-developing international expansion and I’m delighted to be a part of this business during this time. Thanks to everyone that has supported us along the way."
