A WORCESTERSHIRE software developer has joined forces with a a left handed shop, for a new campaign to help schools and educational establishments.

Left ‘n Write based at Wise Owl Toys in Charles Street has joined forces with software developer, Collate Systems.

Left ‘n Write has more than 20 years experience supporting left-handed children with their development and it has gone on to become a leading online retailer of left handed stationery equipment, including the creation of its own ‘Writewell’ mat and left hand writing skills set of books.

By joining forces, both firms aim to help schools understand the complexities in supporting the development of left-handed children to improve their educational outcomes, where Mark Stewart, founder of Left ‘n Write, regularly visits schools to offer dedicated training for teachers.

Martyn Allan, founder and director of Collate Systems, said “I first met Mark when looking at ways in which I could support my own daughter with her development.

"As a left-handed child, I didn’t quite realise how difficult tasks like writing could be – particularly as they are governed through right-handed teaching.

“We will be working closely with Mark to increase awareness of the Left ‘n Write within educational establishments UK wide, in hope to improve outcomes for left-handed children across the country.”

Mr Stewart added: “I am delighted to be joining forces with Martyn and the Collate Systems team.

"We have been working extremely hard to increase awareness of the Left ‘n Write campaign."
