A NEW chief executive has been appointed at Bromsgrove District Housing Trust (BDHT) after former chief Mike Brown stepped down from the role.

Managing Director, Mark Robertson who has worked alongside Mike since the trust was first established in 2004, has been appointed as the new chief and will officially start in his new role on Wednesday, August 1.

BDHT, which owns or manages one in 10 homes in the district, started with 3,000 properties when the trust was first set up and has recently reached a major milestone by providing its 4,000th home.

The housing association is a leading employer within the region and has been a top 10 performer in the annual Best Workplaces competition.

Mr Brown, who has spent 10 years in the role, said: "I have been very privileged to have had the opportunity to make a difference for the people and communities of Bromsgrove, but I am looking forward to the next stage in my life which includes a move to mid-west Wales. I wish Mark all the best for the future."

Mr Robertson added: "I am really pleased to become chief executive.

"Mike leaves behind him an impressive legacy and bdht is a vibrant and healthy business."
