A MALVERN firm has made a new managerial appointment.

Automated Packaging Systems, the packaging firm based at Enigma Business Park, has appointed Calvin Hankins as quality and improvements manager.

Mr Hankins brings more than 26 years of packaging experience to the company and plans to use the Kaizen, continuous improvement method to streamline work, reduce waste and enhance the production of products, enabling the team to identify relevant opportunities and maximise financial savings.

The appointment follows the firm recently receiving an accreditation for quality management.

Mr Hankins said: "Family is at the heart of the company’s ethos and it’s motivational to know that any improvements are carried out for the greater good of the business.

"I look forward to maximising potential opportunities to refine our processes and engaging directly with customer requests to enhance the customer experience.

"It’s great to work for such a forward-thinking business."

Peter Wylie, Automated Packaging Systems managing director, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Calvin to the team and we’re confident his industry experience and quality expertise will be a major asset to the team."
