LEADING lawyers from a city based law firm have been recognised at the Worcestershire Law Society’s annual awards dinner.

Lawyers from Harrison Clark Rickerbys (HCR) celebrated being recognised as the county’s best commercial property team and the firm’s former senior partner Jonathan Brew was also given a lifetime achievement award for his outstanding contribution to the county’s legal profession at the event.

There was further success for HCR, which has an office in Deansway, when two other awards for Junior Solicitor went to Nerys Thomas and trainee solicitor going to Daniel De Saulles.

Worcestershire Law Society annual presented eight awards at the dinner, which this year was held at Worcester Guildhall on Friday.

Philip Parkinson, head of the Worcester real estate team, said: “This gives the team a tremendous sense of satisfaction because it is a fitting recognition of the hard work the team have put in delivering high quality work for our clients throughout the county and beyond.”

Jonathan Brew, whose spent 35 years with the firm, said: “I am very honoured indeed by this award – it was entirely unexpected and really delightful.

“This is a marvellous part of the world, where the legal profession and indeed legal education thrives.

“I shall continue to support the University’s law school wholeheartedly as well as encouraging deeper community links for my firm.”

Junior Solicitor of the Year Nerys Thomas, said: “I feel very honoured - it is a very rewarding conclusion to my first 18 months as a fully qualified solicitor.”

Charlotte Thornton-Smith, head of the firm’s Worcester office, said: “This is well-deserved recognition for our staff’s dedication and talent, both in teams and as individuals.

“ I am delighted for them all.”
