A FAMILY run firm who recently celebrated 145 years in Worcester, has been shortlisted for an impressive five awards.

Robin Elt Shoes, in The Shambles, has been shortlisted in five retailer of the year categories in the Footwear Industry Awards.

On Sunday, February 18, Birmingham's National Conference Centre will play host to the seventh anniversary of the annual awards, which are split into brand awards, retailer awards and industry awards.

Organised by Datateam Business Media, the awards are designed to recognise the top footwear brands, retailers and individuals of the past 12 months.

The British Footwear Association (BFA), Footwear Friends, Society of Shoe Fitters (SSF) and Footwear Today all support the awards.

Robin Elt Shoes is nominated for retailer of the year in the categories of men’s independent, fashion independent, outdoor independent, independent family and multiple footwear.

Winners are selected by a judging panel and announced at the Gala dinner, to be hosted by Canadian comedian Sean Collins.

Robin Elt Shoes already has a number of awards under its belt, winning outdoor retailer of the year 2016 and best ladies independent retailer of the year 2017.

Following on from that success, Robin Elt, current owner and fourth generation of the Elt family, said: "We are ecstatic about being nominated again - this time as retailer of the year in five categories.

"As these awards are given by the cognoscenti of the shoe trade, I feel it reflects the strongest support of our peers.

"Good luck to all the participants and may the best retailer win"

Robin Elt Shoes was founded by Albert Edward Elt in 1872, counting Worcester's own Sir Edward Elgar among its patrons of times past.

The family-run company has now expanded its operation, with 10 stores throughout the UK, including Hereford, Worcester, Ludlow, Totnes and Malvern.
