A NEW partnership is set to boost St Richard's Hospice funds in the new year.

The partnership between Majestic Bingo and St Richard’s Hospice marks the start of fundraising for a worthy cause over the next year.

The hospice is an independent charity caring for more than 3,000 patients living with life-limiting illnesses.

The bingo club, based in Derwent Close, approached the charity to set up the partnership after listening to feedback from its employees and loyal customers.

The club is planning a number of charity games and other fundraising events in the forthcoming months where it hopes to raise £1,000 as a minimum.

The club's first charity evening is being held tomorrow, with all proceeds going directly to St Richards.

Customers on the night can enjoy a whole night of bingo for just £3.

Ria Simons, fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “We are delighted to be working with the team at Majestic Bingo – it is a great chance to raise money for our care in a fun and friendly environment.

“Working in partnership with organisations is important to us here at the hospice and we are very grateful for the support of the local business community.”

Peter Reeves, Majestic Bingo general manager, said: “Majestic Bingo prides itself of being at the heart of the local community, the club has provided its customers with a social space to make friends and stay active for many years.

“We are proud to announce our new local partnership, especially a cause that supports people, their families and reflects our values.

"We’re very excited about working together and our team are looking forward to putting the fun into fundraising.”
