ENTREPRENEURS have reinvented a controversial card game to help Worcestershire business newcomers enjoy networking.

The risque card game Cards Against Humanity where players cheekily create outrageous and offensive statements by matching up two cards from the deck has been reinvented by Richard Hurst, better known as Hursty from Free Radio, and local estate agent and marketer Daniel Lewis.

Cards Against Networking is the result of their work, and the game will be played at a networking event taking place at the Brick Room on New Street from 5.30pm on December 5.

Hursty said: "We know it’s a game a few people have heard about and play at Christmas, even though the results can be quite shocking.

"We’ve taken the spirit of the game and changed the cards so they apply a bit more to people in business but still should create some hilarious moments between the players, ultimately helping them break the ice and get talking to new faces."

Mr Lewis said: "We are for young professionals, apprentices and people new to business in the city so we’ve made sure we make that first conversation with a new person a funny, light hearted one that hopefully leads to a great experience and the generation of a couple of new contacts."

The event is the fourth the pair have run this year as part of Next Generation Networking, and the first they have run in conjunction with sponsor, Armstrongs of Worcester.

Their first event was called Bricks and Beers, the second was Career Pong, and in September, they took over the popular coffee shop Waylands Yard for a night of Back Yard Bingo.

"We tried to combine cool venues with different themes that would appeal from the outset as something different on the city’s networking scene," Hursty added.

"The feedback from the other three events has been great, people love that we focus on helping them break the ice with new faces and if Cards Against Networking goes just as well, we’ve got a great base to go into 2018 with for more events."
