A WORCESTER retailer, believed to be the oldest business in the county, has launched a range of charity t-shirts as part of its 250th anniversary celebrations.

Armstrongs, a family-run menswear retailer, which was founded in 1767, is selling the anniversary t-shirts in aid of St Richard’s Hospice from its Worcester store in Sansome Walk.

Simon Hyslop, who took over the running of the company from his father at the end of the 1980s and is the fifth generation of his family to run the business, said: “We are immensely proud that our reputation and quality service has helped Armstrongs stand the test of time.

“It’s safe to say we’ve seen plenty of fashions come and go over the last 250 years but we believe true style is timeless and it’s great to see an influx of younger customers styling some of our classic pieces and jackets with current trends – such as skinny jeans.

“We wanted to give something back to the local community as part of our celebrations. St Richard’s Hospice is a cause close to our hearts so designing and selling anniversary t-shirts seemed a natural fit."

Shirts are priced at £10 each, with all sale proceeds going directly to the charity that cares for 3,000 patients annually.
