A TEAM from a Worcester firm will be among those taking part in a fundraising walk along the county's waterways next month.

A team from Stock N Lock Self Storage, based at Venture Business Park, is taking part in the St Richard’s Hospice 21 mile Waterways Walk on Sunday, August 6.

Each year Stock N Lock focus on fundraising for a charity close to their hearts, and this year the hospice - which supports more than 3,000 patients each year - was chosen.

Business manager, Ryan Kemili’s grandfather received care from St Richard’s before his death last year.

Mr Kemili said: “This had been an eye-opening episode for me, realising and understanding all the services a hospice offers both their patients and their loved ones.

“It was a humbling experience being able to visit St Richard’s last year and see just how fantastic the facilities are and witness the great attitudes of the staff.

“The hospice makes such a difference in so many people’s lives - we really feel passionately about doing our part to help in any way we can.”

Mr Kemili will be joined by Toni Hodges-Moore, assistant manager and Ian Miles, a director, who are taking part in the walk.

Mr Kemili said: “We are all really excited and have been overwhelmed by the support of our customers, families and friends.”

The Stock N Lock business owners will be matching donations received, so the final total will be more than £1,000.

The St Richard's Waterways Walk, in its eighth year, includes a choice of three distances, a 21 mile circular route for the more adventurous starting and finishing at Droitwich Spa Marina, an 11 mile linear route from Diglis to Droitwich Spa Marina, or a family-friendly six mile circular route from Perdiswell, Worcester.

All routes are on flat terrain, following clearly marked footpaths and no map reading skills are required.
