A WORCESTERSHIRE solicitor has been named best young solicitor at the legal section in the Birmingham Young Professional of the Year (BYPY) awards.

Lauren Hartigan-Pritchard, a senior associate at Thursfields Solicitors, received the award at a gala event, held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.

The awards celebrate Birmingham's best professional services talent under the age of 35, across a range of categories.

Thursfields managing director Nick O’Hara said: “We are very pleased for Lauren.

"This is a testimony to the hard work and driven attitude she has shown since joining us in 2013.”

When she joined Thursfields Solicitors it was to move back to the Midlands where she grew up.

She achieved her law degree at the University of the West of England before training and qualifying with a firm in Bristol.

On joining Thursfields she launched the firm’s insolvency offering and has been praised in Legal 500 for offering “good, solid commercial advice”.

Lauren played a key role in setting up Thursfields’ central Birmingham office in 2015 and is also responsible for leading the firm’s education sector.
