NEARLY 40 new jobs are to be created by a fleet distribution business expanding its operation at Long Marston.

TrustFord has announced the growth of its Long Marston fleet distribution centre, as part of its ongoing investment in the area. The extension of the site will create an additional 37 jobs and is due to be completed by the end of the year. The site, on Long Marston Business Park, Stratford-upon-Avon will expand from even to 22.5 acres, with a storage capacity for around 7,000 vehicles.

Mark Wilkie, fleet and commercial vehicle director at TrustFord, said: "The expansion of our fleet operation in Long Marston marks a huge milestone for our organisation and represents our ongoing commitment to the local area. The additional investment will have a huge impact on our business as the location will mean we can serve our customers faster and more efficiently than ever before, wherever they are in the UK. Over the next few months we’ll be employing a range of talented new recruits to support our ambitions, which we hope will be from Long Marston and the surrounding area. There are already employment opportunities on offer, with roles ranging from technicians, panel beaters and drivers, to administration and support positions."

TrustFord has a long history with Long Marston, where the original site has been based for more than two years. The current development of the site forms part of the long-term objective of creating a national fleet distribution hub; a central location to provide efficient preparation and onward delivery of fleet vehicles across TrustFord’s national network.
