THERE were more major successes for events and communications company drp Group at the EVCOM Clarion Awards.

The Hartlebury-based business and its associate GROSVENORFILM brought home gold with a combined six awards at event held at the Seven Dials Club in London's Covent Garden. The Clarion Awards recognise best practice in communicating the importance of corporate social responsibility, diversity, community development, ethical, health, and education and welfare issues.

Recognised in six separate categories, drp took home gold as the top event service provider, two silvers for its film Pull Through by drpvideo and another silver award for its event drp35. GROSEVNORFILM also collected two bronze awards for its film mVacciNation – A Technology for Life with pharmaceutical giant GSK.

GROSVENORFILM received the bronze award in the innovation (screen) category, and bronze in the community engagement/social enterprise (screen) category. The winning project, mVacciNation – A Technology for Life, shows the collaboration between health and tech. GSK has launched a revolutionary vaccination programme involving mobile technology and apps, to record patient data in clinic remote areas of Africa, such as Mozambique.

drpvideo secured three silvers in categories: documentary (broadcast/screen), brand communication/experience (screen) and celebratory (events) for its poignant film Pull Through, in collaboration with West Midlands Ambulance Service. The short documentary re-created the moment drp’s Ian Hough suffered a cardiac arrest during the annual boat club regatta and emphasised that the presence of defibrillator on site saved his life. Pull Through made an instant impact, attracting coverage on several national press and media outlets, including Sky News and BBC Midlands Today.

drp’s chief executive Dale Parmenter said: "The EVCOM Clarion awards are a brilliant channel to recognise CSR projects and their harrowing realities. The entire team have worked extremely hard to deliver the outstanding projects that picked up these Clarion awards and Pull Through is extremely close to our hearts. To make a difference at the other side of the world with our project with GSK is just as rewarding and valuable. To be awarded in four categories at the Clarion Awards is fantastic, and well deserved for the team.”
