THE area's business leaders enjoyed a day out in the fast lane at the Best of British Hill Climb at Shelsley Walsh.

Exclusive to patron and strategic members of Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, the event took place in the stunning Teme Valley on the oldest operational race track in the world.

Among those attending were a mix of local business leaders from companies including Malvern Instruments, HSBC, Hewett Recruitment, Land Rover Experience and Orchard Valley Foods Limited. Mike Forrester, Chairman of Orchard Valley Foods Limited, said: “The hospitality occasion was well organised and the motorsport very exciting, especially on the ‘esses’ where the hospitality marquee was located. Shelsley Walsh offers a stunning location with outstanding views over the lower Teme Valley. Every vantage point offers a clear view of the track and access to the pits to view the cars and meet the drivers was an unexpected treat. I’ll certainly be going again.”

Mark Constanduros, commercial manager at Shelsley Walsh, said: "It was a brilliant day and a great success. Having business leaders not only locally but from throughout the Midlands coming together representing the motorsport and automotive industry at Shelsley has been a privilege. We are known as a hidden gem but I hope that as a result of successful events like today we will further raise our profile and attract a wide range of people to future events at Shelsley Walsh.”

Mike Ashton, chief executive of the Chamber, and Gwen Evans, patron & strategic manager, welcomed all attendees on the day. Mr Ashton said: "We thoroughly enjoyed the event along with the opportunities it provided for patron and strategic members.”
