WHATEVER accountants get up to at the weekend, not many dress up as pantomime dames.
But that's just what Bob Bailey, director of Evesham firm Allchurch Bailey did. However, it was all for a good cause.
Mr Bailey and his colleagues from the High Street practice dressed up in pantomime costumes supplied by local drama group,Phoenix Theatre Group to raise funds for the BBC Children In Need appeal.
Staff baked 100's of cakes to sell on the day and approached clients and encouraged passing members of the public into their office to purchase everything from a cup cakes to Victoria sponges.
A visit to neighbouring Yates Court housing saw the residents treated to sights, such as as a pantomime horse, Dame Bob Bailey, Prince Charming and even Pudsey Bear himself. Their efforts saw a £500 raised for the cause.
Keith Norledge, corporate manager at Allchurch Bailey, said: "It was great to see all our staff getting into the spirit of the day. We had great fun. Cheered up a few people along the way, while raising a good amount for the appeal. As a local firm we always like to do our bit for the community and get involved. We're now planning our next fundraiser, a Christmas cake raffle for St Richard's Hospice. Tickets are available in our High Street Office should anyone fancy winning a Christmas cake, rather than having to make one."
