JEWELLERY and scarf wholesaler Miss Milly has picked up a little gem of an award.

The company at Top Barn Business Centre, Holt Heath was named small business of the week by Nick Brown, the business expert on Jeremy Vine’s Radio Two show.

“What a fantastic start to the week,” said business owner Sarah Watmore. “This year just gets better and better for us. Sales are growing phenomenally, I went from being a one-woman company to taking on an employee, who has become an incredibly valuable part of the business, and the brand is going from strength to strength.”

Launched in 2012, Miss Milly designs, imports and wholesales jewellery and scarves to retailers throughout the UK and overseas. Earlier this year, the company was a finalist in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce’s Awards in the most promising new business category.

Ms Whatmore added: "The key to our success is building a strong brand that offers mass appeal products that are different to those of our competitors and excellent value. We operate in a very competitive market and in order to stand out, gain and keep our customers, we work incredibly hard on product design and marketing,” Sarah continues. “We supply the giftware and fashion industries, both of which are renowned for copycat products so having our own appealing designs and great customer service are key. And having our efforts recognised by Nick Brown feels fantastic.”
