HIS 60th birthday was certainly a day to remember for finance director Neil Chandler.

Because the staff at housing developer Lioncourt Homes in Warndon, Worcester, had hired a voice to broadcast it loud and clear.

Local actor Rob Leetham, dressed as a town crier, summoned all of the staff outside of the Lioncourt head office in Wainwright Road to announce to the world at large that Mr Chandler had reached the magical age of 60. There was much merriment following the outrageous and humorous delivery from the town crier with a buffet and champagne for all the staff, together with a very special cake.

Mr Chandler said: "I was taken by complete surprise, but I should have known that everyone in the company would have done something to mark the occasion. We have a great team at Lioncourt and a fantastic culture. I would like to thank everyone for marking this special day in such a memorable way."

He joined Lioncourt in 2006 and is one of its founding members. Lioncourt Homes is now one of the fastest growing housebuilders and land traders in central England and employs approximately 50 members of staff out of its head office on Warndon Business Park
