ENERGY and building installation businesses can attend a local drop-in session to speak to a team of experts about the benefits of accreditation and how they can access a new cashback scheme, and pick up a free breakfast.

The Worcestershire County Council-backed sessions will take place on Tuesday, May 12, at Keyline Worcester, Tuesday, May 19 at Travis Perkins Malvern, Wednesday, May 20 at Travis Perkins Bromyard and Wednesday, June 3 at Travis Perkins Pershore. All sessions will run from 7.30am to 11am. The County Council has secured funding from central Government to support local businesses with cashback towards the cost of PAS2030 accreditation as part of a new training programme.

For 25 per cent of the normal price (starting from £194) Worcestershire businesses can gain the PAS2030 accreditation necessary to operate under Green Deal, ECO and other government energy efficiency schemes. The cashback programme is run on behalf of the County Council by the Energy Saving Trust.

Ally Wadeward from the Energy Saving Trust said: “Opportunities for businesses aren’t limited to those who already work installing renewable energy technologies, insulation or other energy related measures. Electricians, plumbers, plasterers and general builders can also diversify using their existing skills to gain more work from government incentives and initiatives.”
