FUNDRAISING efforts by staff from Natural England in Worcester have contributed more than £2,000 for Cancer Research UK.

The government department raised the sum for the charity following a ball organised last year.

Catherine Hurley, historic environment lead advisor at the Natural England offices in Whittington Road said: “We’re so pleased to have raised this sum for life-saving research and so grateful to everyone who donated. Our staff have really embraced our fundraising with passion and creativity and we are grateful to each and every one of them for their support.”

Liz Sheils, local fundraising manager at Cancer Research UK , added: "We are extremely grateful for all the time and effort invested by Natural England staff. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has fundraised towards this impressive total, and to the company for generously donating prizes and money to the cause. All funds raised will go towards the charity’s research to beat over 200 types of cancer, helping to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.”
