NINE-years-old Emilie Conti had an extra special card to send to her family and friends this Christmas after winning a housebuilders Christmas card competition.
Children from Perry Wood Primary School were asked to take part in a design competition for David Wilson Homes Mercia which has a development in the area called Broadheath Meadows, on Newtown Road.
Emilie won with her Christmas morning design, which featured a roaring log fire, tree and a young girl unwrapping her new teddy bear. She received printed versions of her card with runners-up each receiving prizes.
Tracy Kelly-Freer, head teacher of Perry Wood Primary , said: “We were delighted to partner up with David Wilson Homes and have our children design a Christmas card. We had some imaginative designs and Emilie’s version of Christmas morning obviously stole the hearts of the judges.”
Stephen Barton, senior sales manager for David Wilson Homes Mercia, aded: "The school children designed some very creative Christmas cards ranging from the sublime to the amusing, but we had a lot of fun judging the winner and I hope the children enjoyed taking part. The school was fantastic in letting us be a part of their Christmas schedule and now young Emilie has a special card to send out this year.”
