A SOUTH Worcestershire manor house business has won two top awards in the county's main tourism competition.

Eckington Manor, near Pershore, took both best bed and breakfast and the tastes of Worcestershire categories in this year's Visit Worcestershire Awards of Excellence, held at Kidderminster's Mercure Hotel.

Judy Gardner, owner of Eckington Manor, which is renowned for its fresh produce restaurant, luxury accommodation and cooking schools, said: "This is a wonderful tribute to everyone here. We have a unique and close team who work so hard and these awards are for them, a real recognition of their enthusiasm and professionalism. Our 260 acre farm gives us the freshest produce throughout the year - certainly our breakfast sausages made from our own rare breed Old Spot pigs continue to attract attention - plus we have recently refurbished the restaurant and accommodation. The luxury new fittings such as the hand painted silk wallpaper and Fired Earth bathrooms I am sure all helped to contribute to these awards."
