FLOORCARE company Vax, which has its headquarters at Droitwich, has entered a team of 26 runners in this year’s Great Birmingham Run on Sunday, October 19, aiming to raise £2,600 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The squad is made up of employees from across both its sites in Birmingham and Droitwich with each Vax runner pledging to raise £100 for the hospital. All have all been training hard in preparation for the event, which is the biggest half marathon in the Midlands.

“Our team put on a fantastic effort in last year’s race and they are back this year to do even better,” said Vax managing director David Winterbottom. “We’re really proud to be raising money for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital again and we’d urge everyone to help show their support for this great cause by donating at our JustGiving page."

The Great Birmingham Run is one of a number of regular sporting events that Vax encourages its staff to take part in through its VaxFit health and wellness scheme. The scheme helps employees keep fit and healthy through a range of initiatives including subsidised gym membership, free weekly fruit deliveries, a cycle to work scheme, health screening and access to confidential advice and counselling.
