MALVERN Help for Heroes raised more than £2,000 during the recent three day Busfest event on the Three Counties showground.

Local co-ordinator Tim Kidwell said: "What a brilliant Busfest. It had it all - the best weather, superb entertainment, fantastic people and, most of all, spectacular VWs. It all helped Malvern Help for Heroes raise a truly impressive £2128.53 to support our wounded and injured service men and women. Hero the Bear paraded, hugged and danced through the masses of hugely generous bus enthusiasts, children of all ages and their dogs. A massive Malvern Help for Heroes thank you to all those who donated or brought goodies from the shop, to the volunteers who worked so hard and got so hot and to Busfest, especially organiser Simon Holloway and his team for hosting us.

"Our next event will be the play Adrian’s Wall at Malvern Theatres from September 17-20. Writer Nick Wilkes, who is writer in residence at the theatre, is a friend to us and along with two chums, raised £450 for H4H walking Hadrian's Wall to research this play. Nick is also arranging post performance collections for H4H."
