CARE centre Primrose Hospice is seeing business bloom after opening a new fund-raising facility. The Bromsgrove-based charity recently launched a furniture shop and donation centre to help with its cash flow.

Helen Garfield, hospice chief executive, said: “It is still early days but it has started well. We are pleased with the local support and initial sales. The more money we can raise the more work we can do and the more people we can help. So I would urge the public to even greater feats of generosity.”

The centre in Evesham Road, Headless Cross, accepts all donations of goods including clothes, books, bric a brac, furniture, electrical and much more besides. A collection service is available for large items or house clearances.

Ben Truslove, partner in property agents John Truslove who arranged the lease, said: "It is a wonderful cause and does fantastic work for those with life limiting illnesses and their families. It is quite humbling and I am so glad we were able to help.”
